Nazi Gestapo...really? I don't know about you, but I know that the drug dealer that used to live across the street from me and the freaky creeps that would lurk the neighborhood scared the crap outta me....do I want them there? NO! was I gonna tell the cops so that I could testify against him and when the justice system gave him a slap on the wrist and sent him home he knew who I was and where my kids played? HELL NO! WeTip gives scared folks a chance to get the crime out of their neighborhoods and schools without the fear that someone will come after them. All the info that WeTip receives anonymously is sent to various law enforcement agencies for investigation. WeTip does no actual investigation on their own, they deal in information only. If no crime has occurred or there's not enough info to investigate....done deal. But what if it's true? what if it's not just malicious gossip? You want gangs and drugs in your neighborhood? do you want tagging and vandalism to destroy your town? WeTip has been going strong since 1972 because it works! As a non profit 501(c)(3) organization, WeTip is completely reliant on donations. Enough folks believe in it to keep it going. Corporations, cities, counties, school districts, Law enforcement, fire department and insurance companies all support the work WeTip does. Not all callers want rewards, a few do, what's the harm in that? By the way if a caller does request a reward they get a code name so they stay anonymous. Rewards are from $50 up to $1,000. Information is rated by law enforcement and rewards voted on by the Board of Directors. Call the hotline...call the public relations department....ask any question or statistic, I'll try to help as much as I can.
