Joining host Dennis McCuistion, Thomas E. Woods, Jr. (Ludwig von Mises Institute) and Doug Casey (“The Casey Report”) focus their discussion on the credit crisis, free markets and limited government. What is the true purpose of government and do we really need government at all?

“The more laws a society has the more corrupt it is.”

In a civil a society the government should do three things, since the government is force and coercion.

    1. It should protect your from force from inside I.E. the Police
    2. It should protect you from force from the outside I.E. the Military
    3. It should supply a court system so you can resolve disputes without force

Unfortunately those three functions are so important to the running of a civil society that they cannot be trusted to the kinds of people who go into government.
